Healing With Massage Therapy
Registered Massage Therapy is a manual modality that focuses on the soft tissues of the human body. A Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) is extensively trained to provide tailored therapeutic treatment to each individual. Their skills allow them to appropriately evaluate, palpate, and treat a multitude of conditions. They will also guide you with the homecare necessary between visits.
The benefits of massage include overall improvements in circulation, sleep, stress reduction, and physical tension. However, RMTs are also able to treat a multitude of specific conditions such as:
- Chronic repetitive conditions, such as carpal tunnel syndrome
- Degenerative Disc Disease symptoms
- Migraines and headaches
- Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction
- Frozen shoulder
- Motor vehicle collision conditions, such as whiplash
- Pre and post-surgical conditions
- Pre- and postnatal conditions, to name a few!
Registered Massage Therapists complete their training at the college level. This is comprised of a comprehensive 2200 hours of training before applying for their provincial exams. Once registered, they can pursue other avenues to customize care for their clients.
At Triada, all of our RMTs are in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (www.cmto.com). In some cases, they are also a part of the Registered Massage Therapists Association of Ontario (www.rmtao.com).
Alyssa Gregory, Angèle Lavigne, Carly Smith, and Sarah Thexton all hold memberships with the CMTO.
